Hi all, this is my first post here but the cow forum has been helping me for a few years, so thanks to everyone for their knowledge!!
I am trying to animate the simplified internals of an engine. below is a shot of what I have so far.
So this is what is happening:
-Orange piston is parented to purple rod.
-Purple rod is parented to yellow and red circle.
-Yellow and red circle is parented to a null.
-Yellow and Red circle rotates clockwise around point C.
-The purple rod is 'attached' to the yellow & red circle at Point B.
-The anchor point of the purple rod is at point B.
-The purple rod's rotation is *-1 the rotation of the yellow and red circle.
This is where my problem is, I need an expression for the movement of the Orange piston. It needs to pivot at point A, but its orientation needs to remain constant as if the piston was traveling up and down in a cylinder.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I've been racking my brain over this and cant get it right.
