which suite will perform better with Color?

I'm late to the party again...
So my brand new 8core with 10Gb of Ram has the ATI2600 GFX card and my 'old' 4Core suite with 8Gb of ram has the ATI1900XT. Which one will give me better Color performance?
(Either one will be plugged into a 2TB raid with BMagic HD Pro card.)
I have a sneaky feeling you guys are going to say the 4Core?

I swopped the cards this morning and neither machine worked with the other machine's card.
I have since found an ATI1900XT firmware updater which I've applied to the card in the 4Core and tomorrow I'll put the ATI1900XT back in the 8Core which according some posts here and elsewhere should work.
BUT
What about the ATI2600 which doesn't seem to work in the 4Core???
It looks like the best thing to do is bite the bullet and buy another ATI1900XT for the 8Core??
Any other ideas?

Number of cores and onboard memory are unlikely to help in any case. COLOR is GPU-centric, and optimized for specific hardware -- very unlike gameware, which has to fit with a wide variety of users. When you bought a Final Touch license, you built a system to accommodate it, not the other way around.

The better thing to do would be to buy the ATI Radeon 3870 for the 8core and leave the x1900xt in the 4core. The 3870 is a single slot newer card for a $217 (est) and does core-imaging as well as the x1900xt.
I've also heard that the x1900xt has a fan that breaks down after a year or so of heavy use and replacing it can be problematic because of the internal design of the MacPro.

I can say that our 1900 card is going on two to three years now without a hiccup in a Mac Pro Quad 3.0. I purchased it right before Apple purchased Final Touch.
