Any Good Training DVD's for download ?
by Rajarshi Basu (Rajarshi) on Sep 13, 2008 at 6:48:54 am

Hi,

I am a documentary film editor...about to take the brave leap into Color..by correcting a DV format...120min documentary feature. Im working on a MacPro...I am buying a 23" Apple display...I also have two 17" Viewsonic LCD monitors. I don't have the budget to invest in a 3rd party Blackmagic card. Thats why I am buying the Apple monitor.

I am from India, so if I order from Amazon, its going to take a long time for the DVD to arrive, so is there anything downloadable...apart from the basic video on Apple website ?

Also I believe currently in Color, you can't get a full screen preview on the 2nd monitor without a 3rd party card ? I am using FCS2.

Thanks,

Raj

We have some tutorials on the site and my DVD goes into much more detail.

This is correct. In fact the Color interface takes up both screens. You can run it in single screen but that's definitely not recommended.

I don't know if this would work for you, but Lynda.com has a good training course on Color. I used It and the Peachpit book to learn Color and i'm pretty confident in Color now.

Ripple Training has a good and inexpensive downloadable version. Worth every single $ ! And it truly gave me a jump start into the world of even more saturated colors..
