Nope, according to the website, it's for HD video editing as well.
I've never seen one and I'd have to put it up against our Sony HD monitor to be able to know for sure if it's any good, although for only $1,059 I wouldn't hold my breath. Can't imagine SD would look any good on there too.

I've been wanted to get a look at the LaCie 324s but nobody has them. I live in Portland, 15 miles from LaCie's HQ. I called them about the availability of these monitors, and the sales woman said you might not see any available until September or later. They can't get the LCD panels from their supplier.
