Strange Bug: Certain Clips Replaced with Color Bars

Hi,

I've run into a very interesting bug. When I first send a sequence from color everything is ok. When I reopen it later, regardless if I have done any work on it, Color "loses" the information for all of the clips from one tape and replaces them with color bars. The clips aren't offline, because even if I relink the media the problem persists. They also aren't red-x offline in the timeline in Color. The clips are fine when I go back and view them in Final Cut. Re-conforming does nothing either. Neither does opening an archive. When I render them and send them back to final cut they appear as very short Color bars.

My grade does affect the color bars. The original clips in Final Cut have no special circumstances. The beginning of the tape that the clips are from start with color bars.

The only way to recover from this is by sending a new project to color and loading my corrections from a previous project with the Import->Color Corrections function. This appears to be fine and in line.

The original sequence is 1080p at 23.98fps ProResHQ. I also don't believe I am hitting a the shot or length recommended caps. There are 126 shots at 5:29.

The original media file is on an G-Speed Es Raid with the rest of the clips. It was captured in the same way as the rest of the media.

Has anyone run into this issue? It isn't life or death, since I figured out a work around. I also haven't tried rendering the broken clips before they are broken (i.e. first time I work with the project).

Thanks ahead of time,
Belal

Hmmm,

the first thing that would come to mind is that there is a character in the clips names or in the clips folders name that Color does not like. Or did you rename anything (like a Folder in the Finder) after you sent your sequence to Color? Color is not that good at relinking media files.

Nope. Its all regular numbers, letters, and a few underscores. Its in the same folder as the rest of the media.
