Not really, the TV Logic LCD's for example are true broadcast and film color critical monitors. That's the most important thing. The HP looks like it's designed for both print and production so there has to be a trade-off. It's very difficult to make a perfect monitor for print also be a perfect monitor for video and film motion.

From what I've been reading, it looks to me like the HP is targeted specifically towards CG applications. It sounds like HP is leveraging the existing methods of calibrating & stabilizing a monitor for pre-press & adapting it to the needs of VFX & CG. I don't think it's intended at all for color grading, and the fact that it doesn't have SDI is pretty good evidence of that.
Still, it's an interesting development.
