sequence reverts back to raw footage

Does color have a problem with nested sequences?

I am trying to send my sequence to colour but when it opens the edit is completelty wrong and basically consists of the raw source material. The sequence is nested, is this why?

Yes.

Nested sequences are bad medicine. COLOR wants pointers to the original independent clips, so if you are constructing a "Send" sequence, use of the "command" key would be indicated.

When adding a sequence to a timeline, press the command key to drop that sequence as independent clips. That's what COLOR wants.
