SD convert footage for Color

I jumped into this project halfway through so I might not have all the information.
Shot - Canon XL2 24p anamorphic
Captured - DV/NTSC with 2:3:3:2 pulldown
Edit - in FCP w/ Sequence Settings 720x480 NTSC DV (3:2), NTSC CCIR 601 DV(720x48), Anamorphic, 23.98
I want to do a Media Move to recompress the footage to either ProRes or Uncompressed with a Kona3 card for use in Color. What is the best way to keep image quality, frame rate, frame size, etc.

What will you get like that, but bigger files? Not a single advantage.
CC you DV footage in Color. You can apply the Nattress Chroma/Smoothing filter in Color too and your DV footage will look much better. No blocks, no Mosquito noise. Then you can export from Color as Proress HQ or 10b Unc.

that won't get you anywhere. It's like getting a bigger bag for the same amount of gold.
your footage is 8bit. you work with it in float and export in 10bit because you just added 10bit vignettes. promoting 8bit footage to 10bit won't make your footage 10bit. It's still 8bit. Just like it was recorded.

Is like Jurand says about the gold, or is like writing the same text with bigger leters: You will need more paper to write it, but the text will be the same.
Edit your footage in the original format. When you have your sequence ready to export, set your sequence in Proress HQ or 10b Unc. Set "Render all YUV in High precision" and "Motion Rendering>BEST". You will edit easier and faster. Your HDs will be lighter. You will avoid the step of transcoding all your footage, and your master will have the same quality.
