Video preview-out is one step behind my selection

Hey all,
Colorist here who is new to using Color professionally. Our house finally upgraded to Studio 2 and while I've been using Color at home for months now - my work set up is a little different.
Just started grading my first project and I noticed that the video preview out lags one step behind whatever I'm doing in Color. This only happens on my video preview monitor - the UI window/monitor attached to my computer updates live.
Is there a setting that I'm missing or a fix for this?
I have a Mac Pro Intel machine with a Kona 3 card from Aja - all the latest drivers (5.11 or 5.1 NDD I believe.. whatever their latest version is). Also still running Tiger 10.4.11 and Quicktime 7.4.5. Color is version 1.0.2.
So an example is I disable a secondary grade but my video preview doesn't update that. Then, if I enable that grade, the grade looks disabled on my monitor - like it's always one step behind what I'm actually doing. This forces be to make a change and advance a frame (arrow right) which is highly annoying. Surely someone has a solution for me, yeah? I hope so.
Thanks a lot.

I have a Kona LHe. I was operating Kona 5.0 drivers on my Tiger 10.4.11 boot drive but was experiencing some "issues." Called Aja tech support and direct from them; although the website claims otherwise, Tiger users with the LHe should stay on the 4.x Kona drivers. Kona 5.1 is for Leopard users only. This is what Aja tech support told me.
Also, QT 7.4.5 is for Leopard, you can read all sorts of tales of woe of moving beyond QT 7.3.1 on a Tiger drive.

QT 7.4.5 is really for Leopard.
As for the external monitor not updating, make sure you don't have have the Preview Tab active in the Secondaries room when you're working. The external monitor will not update correctly when when this tab is open.

Thanks for the tip Walter - it's very likely that my preview tab was active. I'll have to try this when I go in in the morning.
As for the Quicktime version - unfortunately I don't have any control over the version installed - or engineers are in charge of all upgrades. They generally wait out Quicktime versions until the word on the street is that they're safe - not sure if this version of QT got installed when we just upgraded to Studio 2 or what. I know it happened recently.
Other than this problem the system seems to be functioning properly. Can someone please explain what is meant by QT 7.4.5 being "really for Leopard"? It installed I would imagine via a software update - and we've only ever been running Tiger on these machines. Is a downgrade possible or even recommended if we're already to 7.4.5? Again, I haven't noticed any Quicktime or video related problems. Thanks.

I just wanted to add that I'm still experiencing this video out preview problem - nothing has fixed it so far. I even tried downgrading both Quicktime and my Kona drivers (as suggested above) but I had other problems when I tried doing that. Also, it didn't have anything to do with the preview tab being active.
Is no one else using a Kona 3 card with Color and experiencing this problem also? If you're not - what setup are you using (QT version, Kona drivers version?).
I'm thinking this is probably a Kona issue, so maybe I'll need to post in the AJA forum or talk to them directly.

Very good possibility that this could be the reason - I just realized that I had a GeForce 7300 in here and not the Radeon X1900XT. I just put in a request for the upgrade...
Are you thinking this is probably the reason? Hopefully upgrading the card will fix this problem.

[Paul Escandon]"Are you thinking this is probably the reason?"
I have seem some weird things happening with unsupported graphics cards. Usually it resulted in one half of the image not updating properly. Not 100% sure if what you are seeing is related to the card, but I would guess so.
