Color with MXO and Dual Head 2 Go
by Helge Løken on Feb 2, 2008 at 5:53:28 pm

I'm looking into building a system for Color and debating if I should go the Matrox MXO route in order to save some money. I have a two questions.

1. How would Color work with using the Matrox Dual Head 2 Go and spreading the interface onto two 23" Cinema Displays? Would 1 30" be the better option?

2. What is the best LCD to monitor on? I've heard good things about the NEC MultiSync LCD2690WUXi-BK

Thanks!

Do a search on this forum for Matrox and MXO. This has been discussed several times.

In my opinion the most accurate LCD monitor under $20 - $30,000 is the TV Logic 24" LCD display. Approx. $8,000 U.S.

I think Martin E. of e-Cinema would probably disagree with you Walter.

i have been doing some research on MXO, the monitor to get is ACD. MXO is designed to calibrate it, so anything else will just cause you headache. apple cinema display.

All sounds good, however one detail bugs me. It seems that MXO can processes video 8bit and will spit out images in that color space. So if you are working on anything more than 8bit, ie 10bit. You will not be able to see it in 10bit. Which is pretty critical in color grading.
