Every time i import my color project back into FCP the footage looks fine then when I render it, it turns into some disturbing black red and dark colored version of my footage.. the preview and full of my clip looks how i tweaked it in color... but for some reason when its rendered it looks dark and stuff... im thinking its a color export problem.. but not sure what... Im exporting DV NTSC footage. Help please.!!! Been up all night trying to figure this out, hitting the hay.. so dont get mad if i dont respond ASAP.

Thanks!!

I thought this was an issue that only affects PAL footage but perhaps it is affecting all dv footage too. Unfortunately, the only solution is to revert back to version 1.0 or not use Colour and wait for the next update.

It's funny that most of the usual posters who would jump in and try and blame you for this instead of accepting the program is at fault are strangely silent on this one.

Cheers,

I've said it before, I'll say it again - It's not just a PAL issue. I get a color shift in DVCProHD 24p (rendered out to 422 ProRes(HQ), DVCProHD or Uncompressed 10-bit).

I stopped using Color and went back to Color Finesse. Works as a plug-in, so no round trip issues, and it has more than one level of undo ;)

just use the 3-way cc in FCP for now. It's fine.

Be sure to lodge a bug report with apple from within Colour, the more the merrier.

Really have not seen what you're describing, but we've never sent DV material into Color. We just use FCP for DV projects. The 3 Way CC and Colorista are both excellent for CC'ing projects right within FCP.

Just ran into this issue myself. From my very limited time with it, it seems that using apple prores HQ as the quicktime export codec under project settings (in color) is the culprit for me. When I switched it to "original format," it went round-trip back to the original format (in this case, DVCPRO50), and exports were ok. For some reason, if it's rendered as apple prores HQ, it turns it dark and red like you say.

This is NTSC by the way. It's a weird bug for sure.
