Color to FCP issue

Ive used color before and its always worked fine. However I am now experiencing an issue i cant seem to solve.

I sent my timeline from FCP to color did he adjustments and rendered all clips. When I send it back to FCP a new blank project opens called 'untitled'. There no new timeline with the (from color) on my existing project. So basically nothing seems to come through.

I have changed the directory for the first time to an external HD from which i have been editing from. Also, in the color director where the rendered clips are supposed to go it only has the first frame.

On another note also, I have a couple clips that I stabilized in Motion and have them in my FCP timeline as motion.projects not actual exported videos form motion. These don't show any images in color so will i need to actually export them in motion before sending to color?

Ok I will just export from motion.

Well the footage is the normal formular that I use for canon 5D. Converted to pro res. The time line In fcp is all correct settings for the footage. It exports fine in fcp and plays correctly in color before the render.
