When I export to color, and I get this green distorted footage, and have to restart color.

Looks like this:

Sometimes reseting works, but when I send back to fcp all the footage is the garbled distorted green. Any ideas why this is happening? I tried tried trashing prefs already.

You'll have to supply more info on the footage that you'e using. Could be an unsupported codec for the roundtrip.

Most of the time its because there is something on the timeline that is incompatible, like an oversized graphic.

Ok one part of the problem is solved! I removed all the stills sent it to color and was able to start editing. I also test rendered a few files and verified them in the render directory.

The problem is while editing, the footage all the sudden turns green, and i have to trash prefs and restart color. That works, but now when I send the sequence to render all the footage turns up green and garbled. I tried the following:

-changing render directories
-trashing prefs
-rendering only 1 file and it's still showing up green and garbled.
-went to project settings to verify everything was correct
-even tried to change the quicktime codec from "original" to "prores 422 LT

Any other suggestions?

[vu thai] " I also test rendered a few files and verified them in the render directory."

So it worked once.

Sounds like COLOR was okay until you hit another problem spot.

At this point, the old troubleshooting approach was to cut up the project into smaller chunks, until the problem went away -- and then you could isolate which part of the project contained the violation.

It could still be hidden in a phantom nested sequence or an unsupported codec or something.

Thank you! My problem is solved! Turns out I had a 60 fps file that was twixtored and a timelapse that had a larger dimension than 1920 x 1080 which was causing it to geek out. I removed both and everything and order is restored.
