 | no options for 1080p on video output
by jason morton on Oct 6, 2010 at 11:37:00 am |
Hi, was wondering if anybody would know why i can't get a 1080p on my video output (aja kona iohd) when I'm working with pro res 1080p. It's only giving me options for 625 or 525. Is it because some of my media is xdcam 1080p? Never had this problem before when working on the same project and media.any ideas?

All media has to be the same codec, same frame size, same frame rate for a Color project.

Never mind...it looks like there's still no HD out support for the ioHD.

You can mix media in Color. It's been able to do that for a while now. You can even mix stills with totally random resolutions. What's your sequence settings in FCP and your resolution preset in Color?

That's not true. There's probably something else wrong with his setup. You've been able to mix different formats since Color 1.

That's all you will get from your expensive ioHD.
No HD out of Color.
That's call a "limitation".

Yup...no HD via FIREWIRE from Color. I would say it's a limitation of firewire, but it works from FCP...so it is a limitation of COLOR.
That's the main reason I didn't get the IOHD...does EVERYTHING I need...but that.

I'd guess the problem is that you'd need your Mac to transcode Color's 32-bit RGB to ProRes on the fly in order to get it down the Firewire cable to the IoHD. Are there times when it doesn't work with FCP (like when you have some reasonably demanding RT effects going)?
