Color Tracking fails to reconnect after reopening a project
by William Dio on Nov 22, 2009 at 5:04:27 pm

Up to yesterday, I hadn't tried Color to it's full extent. However, I'm finishing a teaser for a feature length film and thought I'd give it a try to see if the 1.5 version was any better than the 1.0. After a couple of hours, I was amazed and decided that Color my my new best friend.... Until this morning, when I reopened the file I worked on yesterday and found that all my tracking data failed to reconnect. In other words, the trackers were still there (but impossible to edit anymore) and while the vignette still said it was connected, it failed to follow the tracking....... This is very frustrating. Any idea what's going on?

I'm using Color 1.5 on an Intel based 2.66 Quad with 4GB of memory. I'm running Snow Leopard (hope that's not the cause...)
The footage is DVCPRO HD 1080.

Thanks,
William

Okay, I found out it has to do with the in and out point of the tracker. When I quit and reopen the project, somehow, they both got reset to the same frame (first frame of the shot, usually). When I correct the in and out point, the tracking works. It's still pretty annoying, though... If anyone has any idea why it's doing that, I'd be delighted.
