Send (back) to FCP (wrong sequence)

Hi dear friends,
I have color graded a sequence which originated in FCP. When color grading was completed I sent to FCP. Color shut down and the rendered files disappeared from the render queue and no green bands under the clips in the time line when Color was relaunched. This happened several times.
I discovered that the a copy of the original sequence in FCP had somehow been substituted for the original sequence and that is probably why Color shut down on the command "send to FCP".
Attempts in FCP to replace the sequence copy with the original failed - Color always shut down on the command "send to FCP".
Is there a way to correct this error or must I start over?

That's how the "Send to Color" command works. You get a duplicate copy of your original sequence with (from Color) attached to the end of the sequence name.
Now why Color is crashing after it completes the Send, I don't know. But the duplicate sequence is there by design. I cover this in my tutorials and it's quite clearly detailed in the manual as well.

Walter,
Thank you for the comments. Color never got the chance to send a copy - it crashed first. What I think happened was that I edited in FCP and sent to Color. While in Color I tinkered around in FCP and created two copies of the FCP project. When color grading was completed, I sent it back to FCP. For whatever reason Color saw the project copy - not the original so it crashed. Color recognizes only the original project - nothing else.
Can I retrace my steps and present the original FCP sequence to Color after grading? Then Color would send it's color corrected sequence back to FCP (from color).

Nope- it doesn't work like that. Try reinstalling Final Cut Studio- that might fix your crashing.

You can't do that. You send to Color only the final project. You can't have a project open in Color and they mess around with the same project in FCP at the same time.
