Reconnect render media

Hello,
I have color 1.0.4 that is giving me a hard time.
I'v render a project last night, to have have it finish this morning. When I tried sending it to FCP Color quitted suddenly and I lost my renders in Color. But, the renders are in a file, I found them in the finder.
I tried reconnecting media with the file but nothing happens...
Is there a way to reconnect the renders ? (or it is only for the raw media ?)
If yes please tell me how to do that, I might do it the wrong way.

If you send to FCP it will reconnect to those renders.
Although it is annoying that you can't see them in the queue anymore, I wish it would save that.
additionally, it would be nice if Color recognized after a color restart which files have and have not been rendered. (so you can use the "add unrendered" button)
I don't know about Color crashing on send to FCP, but as long as you have your renders you're not completely lost, although it may require some tedious work, depending on your project.
First import the folder with your renders (the one containing one folder for each scene) into Fcp. Open it up and drag all the numbered folders to the timeline. This will place all your scenes in the right order. Now if your project only contains cuts you are the lucky one, just add sound and graphics (if you have) and you're done. If on the other hand you have any overlapping scenes it will take some work to get the sync back, but still it might be better than rerendering and maybe not being able to send to Fcp.

Thank you very much, I surly works but...
The first problem is that I have 3 tracks in the FCP sequence. When I drag the folders in a FCP sequence every shot is put one after an other. So I kind of lose my edit.
Also, the 3 tracks that I have in my FCP sequence are the result of long preparations for export to Color. Indeed, 2 moths ago I was having the problem that (yes, on the same project) that imbedded sequences and timecodes of my shots where wrong in color. There was nothing to do and the rendered images of Color where blurry.
As a result I had to make 3 tracks, take out the fades between shots, make the in and out points larger, export in quicktime to re import and recut the film like the original edit but with the new imported video's so that it can be managed correctly by Color. My will was to come back from color after the work, and rework my transitions to complete the edit.
Also, by doing all those "organizing" manipulation and film of more that 20 minutes, I increase the chances of doing things wrong, modifying edits, length of shots, synchronization with sound...
Finally, I've spend numerous hours on Color without any result yet, and with no specific belief that going further will help: each time I find a time consuming solution to a problem, I get a problem just behind. Filmmaking is problem solving for sure, but never I've seen problems with computers like I'm having. I've used FC, Compressor and DVD studio for some time know, and the problem where always solved at a certain point sometimes after long hours, but fixed. All that is the expression what I think the situation is actually in my post-produciton process, in no way a critic to any person on the forum.
So, I've been thinking since a month of getting the update to FCS 3, with the new color 1.5 that can manage in a proper way edited sequences in FCP. Is that a true information ?

You might have more cuts then Color likes in your sequence, or some effect carrying over from FCP to Color that is hanging up. Something is crippling the send XML back to FCP process.
You could save your grades, cut your FCP sequence in 2 or 3, depending on the length.. and resend to Color.. add your saved grades back to the sequence, and send to FCP, then put them together in a final conform sequence.

ehmm.
Your solution looks workable..but I'm not sure if I completely understood.
First, I cut the FCP sequence in 2,3 on the length. So if I have 21 minutes I can do like 3 of 7 minutes.
I send that in different parts to Color ? So I have like 3 different sequences containing my project.
I work my grades in Color and render them. Then I drag the Color renders in FCP (since the XML back to FCP doesn't work) and re put that in the right order ?
If I do that I still have to have 2 or 3 tracks on my sequence because I have some overlapping fades that can not just take out and have that in one track without lousing images when I re put the fades after render.

[Greg Pilon]"I have graded, and it will not let me send back to final cut at all.

Which generally means you have a filter, a nest, a graphic, something that Color does not like in your timeline sent to Color. We have had zero issues with sending back to FCP unless there is something like this in the timeline. In the most recent case, it was the Flop filter. It had been applied to three clips, thus the entire timeline did not send back to FCP.

I know this response is late, but I just saw this thread and I realized that we did have a flop filter on one clip. This must of been the problem. Thanks for the info, even though I already spent 2 days rebuilding my project, it has still been driving me crazy about what happened. Thanks Walter, at one point I was looking for wall to drive into.
