Color 1.5 "Still Store" Bug ?

I encounterd this using the wave panel, but i think it´s realted to Color 1.5
If i try to save a still frame in the still store room, using the shortcut or even the menue and selecting "still" brings me back to my Mac´s root directory, but doesn´t save anything.
Saving a still frame only works if i go to the save button and click it with the mouse, this really bugs me, since it breaks my workflow with the panel.

I am using color 1.5 the wave panel. I have no issue taking and displaying stills via the panel or mouse.
My big issue is the gamma change on the still when looking at the scopes.

This is strange, I don´t have a gamma issue on manually saved stills.
When you store a still via the panel, is Color prompting a default name for the still ?
My filename box is always empty, but i remember from 1.0.4. that normally Color names the stills by itself.
thanks

Yes it has a default file name. Something like Still.23 Aug 2009 02.18.45PDT.sri
I think the stills follow the default project directory. It is on the setup user prefs page. Fill out all the directory paths then start a new session.
If it "still" lol wont work try creating a new user and see if it works. This will start clean with no preferences to cause issues.
The gamma issue is there look harder. It is really bad when working with 2k dpx frames.

Thanks Darin,
I tried a new user account, didn´t work.
I thrased Color and all it´s related files in Library/Application Support on the home and the root directory as well as all Color Related Files in Library/Preferences, still no luck.
I still don´t get a default file name for any stills i want to save and i think, that´s the problem.
Don´t have a dpx sequence here right now, but QT Files seem to be fine in regards of Gamma Shift in the still store.
thanks

for the gamma issue -
before launching Color, open system preferences and then displays and make sure you are not using a Gamma of 2.2 but rather 1.8 - I know this seems silly. Also if you're using ADOBE RGB change that back to the native color setting of the display.
Now open Color save a still and everything should be fine. You'll still notice a slight shift in the scopes but the image should match and the weird thing is on Color's scopes I see the shift I don't see it on my external scopes.
So the moral of the story is leave your monitor set to 1.8 gamma and standard color settings, its ok to use monitor to adjust contrast and color just don't use display prefs

Switching the (computer) monitor profiles did improve the still store "color" for me via a Kona 3 and video monitor, but there is still a slight shift. Before, it was a drastic shift. Now it is in the ballpark but not exact. But this fix might even be more alarming, because, like said in an earlier post, the internal scopes continue to adjust drastically while the image being output adjusts ever so slightly (when displaying a still). This is really bad news for three reasons...
1) From my perspective, there should not be any visual/functional connection between OS X's monitor profile settings, Color, and a video signal sent out an AJA Kona card. Apparently there is... doesn't seem good.
2) The still store is not accurate, which makes it virtually useless. This seems like a MAJOR new bug to me.
3) There is a disconnect between what my video monitor and external scope is showing and what the internal scopes are showing. This is very bothersome.
I feel there needs to be significant outcry from us, because this is a new bug in 1.5 and needs to be fixed quickly.

My image does match, its my scopes that have the gamma shift. Huge depending on the file type.
I am reluctant to change my gamma settings because I scoped my monitors for rec709 using calibration software/ hardware creating a custom set up.
Where is this gamma settings tab anyway. I may give it a shot and see if it changes my look.
My tests are telling me it is an issue with different codecs and based on my readings more than a few people are having issues with it. I have sent mac several test images and am awaiting a response.
Another huge issue is round trip back into fcp from color. Shift in color and gamma once again depending on file type and mixed materials.

[Darin Wooldridge]"I am reluctant to change my gamma settings because I scoped my monitors for rec709 using calibration software/ hardware creating a custom set up. "
Of course you wouldn't change your reference monitor I wasn't suggesting changing anything about that calibration - that would be silly. It's purely a computer monitor thing with Gamma settings in the OS X calibration utility.

You're quite right. I've had my main main Mac monitor (not the broadcast monitor) hardware calibrated to L* for years, and the still-store shift in 1.5 was huge. Recalibrating the monitor using gamma 1.8 minimised it (not that this makes it any more acceptable).
This is crazy. Why should the calibration settings of your primary Mac monitor affect the actual video output of Color's still store? Since Color does its work with the graphics card, is it something to do with video-card LUTs getting into nooks they shouldn't?
This needs a fix quick. I've posted a bug via the Color feedback form on apple.com, but there doesn't seem to be a ton of outcry – how can we make more noise?

I've the same bug on the still store. I hoped in the update 1.5.1 but without success.
I've discovered one inidcation.
If You right clic on the colorproj file and select Show Packages Content, you could explore the content of the file. The Still Store folder exist, but it's become a file with blank icon and not a folder.
Maybe if we could transform this file in a folder, we'll go back to use the still store.
I hope this bug will be resolved sooner or later, it's a shame.
