Color FX Vignetter Problem?

I'm in the Color FX room trying to apply a vignette to my grade and can't get the output to show up on my monitor. My nodes are vignette node into Alpha Blend node (alpha source side) to Output node. But when I click on the Output node the vignette doesn't show up. What am I missing? I'm sure its something small.

Vignette in COLORFX is entirely different in function from the Secondary implementation.
It acts as an alpha-enabled combiner only. Too bad the tree doesn't monitor the same way SHAKE does, because this would be totally obvious immediately.
You must use it in conjunction with a BG/FG combiner and apply the COLORFX vignette as an alpha input. That it shows "source" video in the node monitor is misleading, and is only there as a preview to help with placement. No actual video flows through it.

Thanks Walter, I've watched this about 5 times now thinking I've missed something. I've followed it to a T but still the vignette doesn't show up when I click the output node. As I asked Josepeh, could it be some settings in Color or maybe my DVCPro HD 720p60 sequence from FCP?
Confused!

That tutorial was created with a DVCPro HD 720p sequence. If you've got everything connected as it's supposed to be then I'm really not sure what's going one.

You know what, I feel like jack a$%. All I wanted was a simple vignette with dark corners. And after looking in the Color FX Bin and grabbing the Delta vignette I realized I need the Multiply node rather than the Alpha Blend node.
Wow, feel dumb. I guess the Alpha Blend node is to be used for other effects such as the blur, like your tutorial Walter. Duh, sorry for the confusion and wasting your time. I know you can also use one of the many secondaries as well to do this. Thanks for all your help. My apologies.

Joseph, thanks for the reply. Again, I have my vignette output going to the alpha blend, alpha input and alpha blend output going into the output. I don't get it. Would my settings in Color have anything thing to do with this? What about my FCP DVCProHD 720p60 sequence.
I've trimmed my sequence down to one clip, threw a quick P-In and Secondary on it and tried the ColorFX vignette again (following Walters tutorial) and nothing. When I click on the output node I don't see the vignette. Don't undestand what's going on? The Alpha Blend should be knocking out the vignette.
