On grading with Color find black out shots on sending back to FCP
by dave carnegie on May 30, 2009 at 8:17:26 pm

Shot project in HDV with 2 cameras
Edited with Multiclip in Final Cut
Sent to Color for Grading
Finished Grading and sent back to Final Cut
On playing in timeline all shots from camera 1 are black
In panic checked render files and all camera 1 shots are OK and rendered perfectly

When I have used before without editing in Multiclip no problems

What am I missing please

life is not perfect but that is probable me

That's the fatal error.

You must get out of the multiclip mode, as it behaves like a container or nested sequence, both of which COLOR does not understand.

Usually I Media Manage the project to create a new project with the multiclip option set to export the active selection... it goes out as an independent clip that way, which is the way COLOR wants it.
