Color grading with pro monitor question

I know there is always a lot of monitor questions, but with my current setup I am confused. I shot on the red at 4k comes into fcp at 2k of course. Now I want to grade that footage with a high end monitor using hd-sdi. Most of the monitors that are quote professional grade that I can afford are 1920x1080. So my blackmagic will let me view that on that monitor at a 1:1 pixel ratio but now I can't see the whole picture. I heard AJA is the same except it lets you choose what part of the picture to view. So my question is assuming the new FCP supports 4k, how can I view it on a professional monitor? Is it just go thru your graphics card and view the resized software interface, because the Blackmagic or the AJA won't resize for you? If at 4k on a 1920x1080 monitor I will only see like 25% screen. Basically, I am trying to use 2 monitors for colors interface, and then a professional monitor connected to a breakout card ie:blackmagic or AJA where I can see the full picture resized for that screen. Am I crazy here? Thanks Greg

WHo knows WHAT future version of FCP has in store...but if you want to see your 2K image on a broadcast monitor you need the AJA Kona 3. It allows you to, as you mentioned, move around the 2K image so you can see everything. What is the point of seeing it 4K when there aren't 4K broadcast monitors? Sit in front of a Christie 2K projector? I know where you can do that.

I guess I wondering how a full on post color correction suite views 4k material or 2k. Are they using a breakout box or just using another graphics card? I guessing they have something that res's down to view the picture on a 1080 screen. It seems like as though the kona3 will let you move the screen around, it seems like it would be a pain to go into the settings every time to want to adjust this? Adobe now does feature 4k and RD3 support, I assuming FCP will follow, and for my current setup it would be nice for 2 monitors for the gui and 1 monitor where you can see the full 2 or 4k output on a 1080P screen
