Hey Aharon,
I'm a big fan of your AE podcasts! I was wondering what software ae you using that enables you to zoom in on the menu items as your selecting while capturing the screen? It makes it very easy to follow.

Record with audition, capture with camtasia studio, edit and add motion gfx in AE.
If you want the full sordid story, I spend about an hour on explaining my tutorial workflow in my Creative Cow Master Series DVD, Internet Killed the Video Star, which you can find by clicking on the title in my signature below, or at http://training.creativecow.net/.

I see this post is very old, and wanted to know the very same thing. I really like the quality of the screen capture. Bumping this up so the very busy Aahron sees it..

First, Aharon won't see this any time soon. His first kid was due last Friday and, as far as I know, is still on deck. Not that things will get easier when Junior actually arrives. :-)
Second, the primary tools that Aharon uses are Camtasia for capture, and Squeeze for compression.
He goes into great detail on this and MANY other web video-related topics in his Cow Master Series DVD, "Internet Killed the Video Star."
Among my very favorite parts of it is indeed the section on creating podcasts -- not just the compression, but also posting and publishing via iTunes and other podcast subscription services. Also great stuff on other kinds of podcasts, including straight-up video podcasts using Adobe Visual Communicator (one of the most remarkable pieces of software I've ever seen).
In typical Aharon fashion, it's topflight info presented in truly entertaining fashion. There's not another disk anything like this. Follow the link above to check out the first chapter, absolutely free, and you'll quickly see why this is the best-selling disk in Cow Master Series history.
All that said, the answer to the only question you actually asked is Camtasia and Squeeze. :-) But your stuff won't look like his until you know how.

Thank you! Ordering the dvd via express mail now. Gosh, I often tell soon-to-be parents "watch movies now, you won't get to them later". I hope in A's case he gets to MAKE movies!
