cartoon like animation
by visualizer on Jul 13, 2006 at 5:35:07 pm

I'm setting up some cartoon like animation in AE. How can I import the character animation over the background so the character is solid but the background can be seen behind the character? Is there some easy type of matting?
Thank-you

I need more deatils to answer this. What program are you doing the character animation in?

The short answer is you should render your character stuff out with an alpha channel - so only the character is opaque. Again, without knowing what program that animation is being done in, there's no way to tell you exactly how to do it...

Hi
The animation is hand drawn (pencil on paper) and then scanned as jpeg images. I then bring the images into AE as a sequence.
