Tutorial Please
by Skeeter on May 31, 2006 at 11:08:51 pm

Hey,

I'm new to Ultra, and my new job recently bought it (Ultra 2), and asked me to figure it out. I've been given some interview clips where the green screen and subject are not ideally lit. The BG is more of a dark green than the bright, easliy keyable green.

I'm trying all sorts of different variations of all the adjustables, but getting sharp edges it proving difficult... especially on the subject's dark jacket.

I'd love to start to see some tutorials, or even mini-tutorials on the first steps to take when setting the key, and best options for tweaking given certain situations.

Thanks for the help, this site has been a life-saver more than once!

It can be a little challenging to train keying software by remote...

Is Serious Magic's training DVD out of the question?

There are good tutorials on the SeriousMagic website on the Ultra Support page. They address many of the issues you are probably dealing with. As mentioned above, you might also want to consider purchasing the instructional video.
