mpeg 2 video not opening up in ultra

I've got a Panasonic HDC-HS9 and after shooting some green key footage, importing to my hard drive as mpeg (their choice and only choice) then when I go to drag it into Ultra, it simply just hangs up. I see the first frame, and the hourglass just sits there.
I've tried importing using browse, same thing. I've tried converting to avi, then importing - same thing.
the included samples of 'suzy' work just fine. Can't figure this one out.

I have had luck with the same problem by downloading the Elecard player demo, then un-installing it as it leaves the needed codec Ultra needs to work with mpgs. Danny Hays
