24p support
by grasshopper (Grasshopper) on Jan 12, 2006 at 4:24:21 am

I just got Ultra and reading through the documentation I see there is not support for 24p. I realize there must be a good reason. Could you tell me what that is. I normally shoot 24p but, if I understand correctly, I would want to shoot my talent in front of a greenscreen in 60i. If I am using one of your master sets, it would be o.k. for the image on, say a the tv screen in a studio shot, to be 24p since I would not be doing greenscreen work on that image. Is that correct or must everything I bring into Ultra be in 60i?

Thank you in advance for your response.

23.976 is available inside the software...

I wonder if you have the proper codec to output to with 24p if you could simply output to 23.976 and import and change the clip interpolation?

Tim -

Thank you for getting back to me. The reason I asked the question is because I actually read that it did not support 24p in the manual. Of course, now I can't find it to give you the page number. From reading the new features list - it obviously does support input/output in 24p. Since I shoot with a Panasonic 100A, I am now a happy camper. If I should run across where I read the non support statement of 24p, I'll let you know the page number.

Again, thank you for your time.
