OL doesn't see my GY-HD110

I've used OL about a dozen times and it only seems to give me crap when I'm on a paying gig. I had a job today where it would have come in extremely handy. Instead it wouldn't recognize my camera (JVC GY-HD110) in devices. I tried rebooting and reconnecting several times but had no luck. Eventually I mumbled obscenities about its mother and shoved a tape into the camera. I was trying to capture DV 4x3. All the settings were correct. Any ideas?
Thanks

Plug in the camera and turn it on before opening OL. Try and see if windows movie maker sees it. The camera has to be in record mode and not tape mode. I've never tried capturing from tape with OL as it is a direct to disk and camera setup app. Danny Hays

Thanks for the response Danny. I tried plugging in the camera, powering up then launching OL...no luck. I don't have Windows Movie Maker so I can't try that. The camera is in record mode. Maybe I wasn't clear - I gave up on OL and recorded to tape. I wasn't trying to capture from tape. I'll try it again when I get back to work on Monday. Its weird, I've used this setup quite a few times with no problems.

FYI: I was able to record some footage from a JVC MiniDV/SVHS deck into OL so you can bring things in from decks. I just got OL and have been testing it out w/ various setups.
Also, you may have Windows Movie Maker (if using a PC) and not know it. It comes along w/ WinXP SP2. Do a search on your hard drive for it.
