OnLocation for monitoring 35mm adapter
by Royce Hildreth on Feb 27, 2008 at 8:33:30 am

Hello everyone,
I have an HVX200 with a RedRock 35mm adapter. Adapters invert the image. I currently don't have the cash to throw down for a nice 8" Marshall monitor. I am considering purchasing OnLocation and using it to monitor and I wonder if I can invert the picture live, while I am recording or do I have to invert my entire computer;-)

Thanks
Royce

OnLocation has a flip mode option that lets you flip the image horizontally, vertically, or both.

It specifically mentions the RedRock Micro M2.

Cheers,

I just got OnLocation (came with my CS3 bundle) and was looking forward to it for this very reason. I must say I'm very disappointed. The image quality of the onscreen monitors are unacceptable. Yes, it flips the image, records straight to disc and gives you a waveform & vectorscope but, for monitoring its useless. The MicroX is now available for $345. I'd get that and a real field monitor (especially if you're shooting HD).
