Same problem. Although I am in the dark as to etiology, wonder if the issue isn't related to firewire issues since other software in parallels cannot identify a firewire camera.

unfortunately I've not seen any reports that this works under Parallels...

i suspect that since it's made to run while OSX is running, that it can't gain control of any ports since Mac OS probably has them.

Hi, not seen it myself but I hear OnLocation now works with Parallels 3.0 (just came out a few days ago).

Can anyone confirm if OnLocation runs via Parallels 3.0?

It does not run on the current version of VMware Fusion as VMF does not support firewire.

Parallels only supports FireWire for transporting existing Windows settings from another computer to your shiny new virtual machine. I'm not aware of any virtualization schemes that support FireWire.

That's one of the benefits of straight-up Bootcamp.

Tim WilsonPS. Do we need a Windows on Mac forum at the Cow?

I know this isn't the forum to ask, but it's an interesting thread to ask, but do you folks think a forum to explore these issues would be worthwhile? I'm a Windows on Mac guy myself, and I've been thinking about firing one up.

thx,
tw
