podcast episodes and titles
by Richard Walton on Apr 8, 2009 at 6:59:57 pm

Hi:

I'm setting up a podcast for the first time that I plan to have on iTunes. My question involves how many rss.xml documents to create. Ultimately I will have 5 or 6 content areas each with multiple episodes. I see the Creative Cow Podcasts has a page on iTunes that shows the various podcasts they distribute. So does each of these have its own rss.xml feed and if so how are they "brought together" in iTunes.

Example: Overall name is Nature Podcast. Programs to be offered include: Mammals, Reptiles, and Fish. Episodes for Fish include: Fried fish, Grilled Fish, and Sushi.

I assume Fish and episodes (items) be one (fish/rss.xml) and Mammals another (mammals/rss.xml?)
If so, how are these then gathered under the "Nature Podcast" banner/log etc.

Thanks,

Dick

Each series has own feed
If a publisher has more than 3 shows, they can request an Artist Page (see the itunes Tech Specs FAQ at Apple's site).

Rich:

Many thanks. For the beginner its often the simple things that trip one up. I really
enjoy the podcasts you have done for the Cow - well presented and very useful!
