Could someone share his experiences in terms of encoding for iPhone and iPod Touch in widescreen?
320*240 or 640*480 sizes are 4/3 ratios, what is the best size to display 16/9 videos on such devices?
Any experiences? Also so far I'm encoding it @ 600 kbps and I know that I could go till 2000 kbs but which is the best ratio bit rate v size v quality?

Hi Carlos.
Yes, I would definitely encode at a higher rate for the iPhone or iPod Touch as the screens are very good on those devices. Much better than the iPod classic or iPod Nano in terms of size.
So, I would recommend encoding 16:9 video at 640x360 @ 1200kbps for the video. Personally, I use 96kbps AAC stereo for the audio.
Good luck!
