Problem with iTunes not seeing my feed

We recently changed our hosting provider but our URL and path to our feed remain the same. The iTunes client doesn't seem to find the feed unless I delete and resubscribe to the feed. I can't expect my audience to do this.
Does the client retain the IP address or something? How can I get the iTunes clients to update correctly?

Thanks Richard,
Yea, we know about the new feed tag thing. The problem was we also moved over the URL to the new host so the path to the RSS feed was exactly the same as before. There was nothing new to change it to and even that didn't matter because people's iTunes clients couldn't see the feed to get the change instructions anyway. Very puzzling.
We've managed to clear up the problem. It turned out that for some reason there was already a change-URL tag in the feed on the original host but the feed file name in the tag didn't have an ".xml" extension. Not sure why that didn't cause it to fail on the original host but when we moved to a new host the error caused the feed to break correctly (if that makes any sense.) To fix it we added a dummy RSS file without the .xml extension to the new host and inserted a change URL in that dummy file that pointed to the correct filename so that all the iTunes clients would be corrected the next time they connected.
