I'm in the process of creating my first Video Podcast and am having a problem. I'm sure it is just my inexperience and hope someone can give me a hint.
I have created my test episode in Adobe Premier Elements 3.0.
I exported "for IPOD", and it plays great on both my IPOD and in Quick Time. It says it is an MP4 file.
I uploaded it to my site- still shows it as an MP4, but when I- or any of my friends, downloads the file we get an error that says there is a problem with the plug in....
I can view MP4's from other podcasts on the same computer using the same software.
I'm thinking that I just need to find the right "export" from Adobe and then convert it with Quick Time Pro for the MP4.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I should try to export it?

Yes, it doesn't work on my Mac either. It just crashes my browser.
As you said, it plays fine in QuickTime.
I'm going to say that it's Premiere Elements, but I can't be sure. Does it give you any settings to tweak? If so, what does it let you change?
I can see fields in the encoding, you should see if the software can deinterlace the video for you as it makes the MP4.
I'm sorry, I've never used APE3, but if things don't work themselves out, maybe I could download the demo and run it on my PC.
Can you try exporting as a DV AVI and then use QuickTime Pro to make the movie. I know this ads a step, but it would be helpful to know if QT can make a browser-viewable movie.
Since you're not launching until the 15th, you still have time, eh?

Thanks for your help.
I exported it as a DV-AVI and then converted in Quick Time and it looks pretty good.
I'm sure I can get the image to look even better, but at least I fell confident that I can actually post my videos.

I re-did it and it does look better, thanks!
Yea its a bummer that it won't just go from the adobe, but on the bright side, I have learned A LOT from this problem and have a much better understanding of codecs.
Thanks for taking the time to walk me through it.
