I am using a Sony SR11E camcorder which saves m2ts files (1920 x 1080i)
I am using sony vegas to edit but when I finish I want to save them in exactly the same quality as the file that came from my camcorder - would someone be able to tell me what I need to choose
I am guessing
Format: Sony AVC (*mp4 *m2ts *avc)
Template: AVCHD 1920x1080 PAL
but this doesn't have the 'i' after 1080 whereas the blu ray settings do

At any point where you have edited you are going to lose quality as it has to render the file over again- this means fx and crossfades and jump cuts as well.
The i stands for interlaced and you should be able to choose this in your settings when you go to render.
