New avid user trying to import footage
by Brittney Cisco on Jul 1, 2009 at 12:51:16 am

I have footage that a cliet has dumped onto their hardrive and already created bins. I transfered the entire folder from their harddrive to mine and am now trying to import the bins with the files, or just the files into avid. I tried opening the bin inside of avid, it opened but then all the files were offline and I can not seem to figure out how to reconnect them. I also tried importing the media files but that also did not work. Can anyone tell me the best way to transfer these files from my harddrive into avid?

That is an option but it is greyed out and I am unable to click on it.

So, did the client put the actual Avid media files on the drive? (ie, longstringoflettersandnumbers.mxf)

Or did they just give you the bins? (ie, binname.avb)

Do you have the Source files? (ie, .mov, .jpg)

Are you selecting one of the clips in the Bin before trying to click Batch Import?
