HDV video back to Sony Z5 from Avid express pro time line
by Kirk Loy on Jun 23, 2009 at 12:19:55 am

How I do I output HDV video back to Sony Z5 with Avid express pro HD? I thought that if I selected the digital cut function it would be simple as I've done that before on a similar system. On my system the digital cut function is not lit up in the menu box.

My system is a 3.4 dual processor, 4 gigs of ram, windows xp pro,
5.8 avid express pro hd academic version

Thank you for any help

Do you have firewire enabled in your timeline? (It should be at the bottom of the timeline window.

Jon,
Thanks for responding.
Currently set for IEEE1394 firewire
In the pull down menu (clip) Digital Cut is not an option. It is not bolded.
any other ideas why I can't output 1080i from Avid Express Pro back to Sony Z5???
thank you for any help.

Have you set up you deck in deck configuration?

Make sure your deck is on
Go to setting>deck configuration
select 'OHCI compliant' (I think - I'm not in front of an Avid...)
'Add new deck'
Find your deck in the two drop down menus
click apply

Should be there... Post back if you have any questions...
