2 basic questions
by dewan edwards on Jun 20, 2009 at 10:00:27 pm

Hi all, I have 2 questions

1. I colllapsed two tracks. A title and a lower thrid. I scaled the lower thrid and made copies to cover the enter title. I didn't like so I stepped in to rescale the first and tried to copy n paste over the others. When I did this it created to lowerthirds deleting the title above it. How can I copy n paste so that I only get the copy on the one orginal track.

2.I would like to add a filler at the end of my sequence is this possible. I added the dissolve but wanted alittle more room at the end. Couldn't fiqure it out. Simple I am sure

using Exp Pro 5.6

1. Do you have ONLY the track activated you are trying to paste to? (I hope that makes sense...). In other words, turn off all the tracks in your sequence except the one you want to paste to...

2. The best way to add filler at the end of your sequence is to create a black title in title tool.

Yea I only have one track selected. I tried again just to make sure. It copies on both tracks. Annoying. I am still trying to get a good work flow on Exp. I take it I can't import PSD files. I thought I could, didn't work.

You can import .psd files, but any effects (ie, drop shadow) won't be carried over) I like .png files.

You can definitely import .psd files. If you want any layer effects to carry over from photoshop, you can flatten all the tracks (make a copy first so you can go back and revise). Then whenever a change needs to be made, do a batch import of that image clip in avid and it will update that .psd in your project and timeline.
