Adobe Premiere Pro basics | Premiere Pro CS6 Techniques: 10 Importing Assets
In this tutorial, Andrew Devis goes through the different way to import assets into your project including a look at the basic functionality of the Media Browser (with more advanced functions covered in more detail in a future tutorial) and Adobe Bridge. Andrew also shows how to get items from the media browser to the source monitor and then how to get finessed items directly to the timeline with keyboard short-cuts.

Hi Andrew
I went through your premier pro tutorials and they are really really good! i didn't get to thank you before when i was learning as i hadn't an account back then but now i do.
Thanks!
btw. do you know perhaps why when i try to import an AE project (either saved as a premier pro project or an AE one) into premier i get this message:
Video Filter missing: AE.ADBE Paint
What does this mean? did i save it wrong or something?
you told me to use the Adobe Media Encoder, perhaps i'm stupid or something but i don't ehm seem to spot it in my program. is it a separate one or is it hiding under some menu?
Thank you so much for your time and help!!
Camille

Hi Camille
I know you have found a solution, but in actual fact that isn't really the right answer .. sorry about that. Flash output is AN answer but it will not give you the best end results.
I actually have a new AE Basics tutorial due out any moment now that deals with this exact issue! But in short, until the tut comes out - in PP go to File>Adobe Dynamic Link>Import Adobe After Effects Composition
Then you navigate to the project - wait while it finds the compositions in the project - select the comp you want to use in PP and click OK.
There is another method I show in the tutorial which is a big quicker but you can see the tut for that.
This will bring in the comp as an asset in PP that you can dray to your timeline and use like any other asset. The advantage is that this is dynamic such that any changes you make in AE will automatically update in PP.
Then, when you've finishes, render the whole thing out from PP.
This will keep everything super high quality and give you the best results possible.
Keep an eye out for the Dynamic Link tut which should be up very soon and then I've also uploaded several more tuts on output from AE and the Media Encoder.
Every blessing
Andrew
