PrPro CS5.5 gives me the blues

Are you using third-party hardware (e.g., AJA, Matrox)?

We've seen this problem before with out-of-date AJA codecs.

Also, I notice that you're using Premiere Pro 5.5.1, not 5.5.2. I recommend choosing Help > Updates and installing the latest bug-fix update.

Do you mean that this just happens when you're using specific HDV source footage? Or are you referring to the output type---i.e., that this happens only when exporting to ProRes? (If so, which variant of ProRes?)

You must be using Mac OSX v10.7.3. That Lion update introduced a bug that broke previews in Adobe Media Encoder.

It appears to be an Apple bug, but I'm not 100% sure where the fix would come from. We're working with Apple on it.

yes there is a work around, some one sent me an Adobe link to a pdf.
but I guess that didn't make it to this thread.

here is the quick fix from the pdf, until they fix it.

Solution
In Adobe Premiere Pro, apply the Crop effect to each clip that has the blue color cast. Leave the properties of the Crop effect at their default values, so that the effect does nothing to the image.
If you have multiple clips with this problem, you can create a new transparent video clip (http://www.adobe.comhttp://help.adobe.com/en_US/premierepro/cs/using/WS363B6AD6-AC91-4f2a- 83F1-7FB1704A9143.html) . Put it in the topmost video track, and apply the Crop effect to the transparent video clip.
