AVI won't play in monitor. Image size problem?
by Chris Jones on Jun 4, 2008 at 10:29:12 am

Hi,

I have Premiere 6.0

I have converted 9 VOB files to avi and imported them into premiere.
When I add them to the timeline, they won't play - the monitor merely displays a cross in the top left hand corner.

The frame size of my premiere movie is 720 x 576, but the frame size of the clips that I have imported is 720 x 544 - is this the problem and if so how can I remedy it?

Many thanks in advance for your help

chris

The size shouldn't be a problem. Usually when your source video or audio doesn't preview in Premiere it's a codec issue. AVI is like a container, it's the codecs inside that count.
Unless your editing DV or HD, it's usually a good idea to decompress your source before import - Codec: None or Uncompressed.
