creating subclip from source view

Premiere Pro 1.5

I captured the entire tape without doing it as a batch and now I want to create subclips from the source view and arrange them in the project window. I know in Final Cut Pro there is an option 'Create Subclip'. Is there the same function in Premiere?
It would be very inconvenient to edit from one single clip.

No subclips in 1.5 but there is in version 2.0 and up.

Then is there any alternative ways to get around it?

I use AVS Video Converter for batch processing. You could open your clip and insert cuts, or set it to batch at certain time intervals or also based on file size. Finally, export as uncompressed video.
