Calibrating Photoshop, Printer, Monitor

I am trying to print 8x10 pfotos, but they never look the same as they do on the monitor...

How do I get what I see in photoshop to print that way?

Is it better to print straight from photoshop, or use something like windows pic & fax viewer?
