Hi, cs5 keeps crashing on my project so i switched back to cs 4.

I used black and white to make the red black in cs5. This isn't only possible in cs4 so how can i get red in black cs4. (without making the white background black).

To make black & white video, I use the Hue/Saturation effect and set Master Saturation to -100.

I'm not sure what you are talking about, but it sounds like color replacement. If Dave's suggestion isn't what you want, perhaps you can use the "change color" or "color to color" plugins to grab red and turn lightness down to black.
