how to ram preview ONLY work area?
by efraim or on Aug 16, 2009 at 4:19:21 pm

good evening guys.
just wondering, isn't the ram preview supposed to stop when it reaches to the end of the work area?

I want to ram preview only a few seconds, and those seconds under the "work area", in spite of it, the ram preview continues until the end of the composition, why? its VERY annoying and uncomfortable.

using AE CS4 btw.
thank you guys.

Do you have From Current Time selected in the Preview panel? That overrides the work area for RAM previews.

from "Preview video and audio":
"From Current Time
Select From Current Time to play from the current time; otherwise, RAM Preview plays the work area or from the beginning of the composition, layer, or footage item."

I found this by searching for 'RAM preview work area'
