replacing video
by David Cairns on Sep 13, 2008 at 5:32:50 am

Can someone please help, I am a newbie to after effects CS3 and have imported a piece of footage which is a single layer. I want to replace a part of the footage with other stuff. The footage shows as full frame and then reduces to become a page of a book and dissappears as the book closes. Iwant to replace this footage with my own

it is probably a simple process and i look forward to anyone help

David

Edit > split layer should help you; Be careful what you're working with, though. Check out the frame rate and footage details by cntrl clicking the item in the project panel > file intepret > main; this will show you all the footage details. Also notice the details under the thumbnail on the project panel- everything should match.

Option drag an item from the project panel to the layer to replace.

Cheers
Eric
