SUPER NOOB- importing footage

	SUPER NOOB- importing footage by Matt Feminella on Jul 23, 2008 at 6:56:09 am I have searched the site and have found threads somewhat explaining what to do but i am still very much unsure. I cannot import .mpg files. should I somehow convert them to .avi? or is their a more logical answer. Respond to this post     Return to posts index

	Re: SUPER NOOB- importing footage by Simon Bonner on Jul 23, 2008 at 1:05:30 pm You shouldn't use compressed formats like mpeg in AE because it can result in rendering problems, not to mention slow scrubbing. I unfortunately use a sony hdr-sr5. meaning I dont get to record my footage as so many others do with a mini dv because of the hard drive thing. Respond to this post     Return to posts index

Find out how to capture Sony-style AVCHD video, or how to convert mpeg video to a lossless codec. That's the problem with these stinkin' little pea-shooter HD Handycams: they're intended for Dad to shoot Little Debbie's dance recital, and play it back on a Sony TV.
