new guy needs guidance
by Nelson May (nelsonmay10) on Jul 10, 2008 at 2:24:58 am

I am new to AE for about two days now. I am using the apprentice CS3 tutorial, but I am getting bogged down. The book seems to be missing a few steps here and there and I feel I am note getting the foundations. I am in chapter 3. I have a good knowledge of motion.

Are there any free beginning video tutorials out there to get me up and going a little faster. This program has a learning curve.

G5, 1.7, 4MB RAM, 30"cine, G4, 1.6 2MB RAM, Mbox, Neumann TLM-103, FCP HD 5. Pro Tools, Adobe Creative Suite, Reason 3.0, Macromedia Studio, ProAnimator, HVX200 with Firestore v4.0

there are loads of free video tutorials here at the COW ... many are at a beginner level ...
http://library.creativecow.net/video-tutorials/adobeaftereffects

also look at non-video tutorials, there are loads out there and often they are just as good as any video tutorial ...

and I'm sure if you google "After Effects tutorials" you will be swamped with thousands of online tutorials ...

good luck

I started out with Aharon's AE podcast here at the Cow and had no problems getting up to speed. VideoCopilot.net's beginner tutorial section is one of the best places for complete beginners to get going at the moment, and it's FREE!
