the text in the intro of my movie is blurry..!?
by Esther Casas on May 12, 2008 at 4:04:35 am

Hello!

A very basic question...

I made a movie in AE with an intro that is basically text (a pds doc with 300res 720X480).render with highest res..the i burned it using iDVD.

Whem making the movie and watching it in the computer everything looks perfect in terms of resolution, but the movie will be seen through a projector,I watched through my projector and my text in the intro is blurry, and also I have a mov in 3D that is in a very high resolution and when I projected through a projector the movie is also a bit blurry...

in the same movie i have other fragments (movies made with TIFF files) and they look perfect.

I tried to put my intro in AE as a tiff file, but is not recognizing it. also my pdf txt looks blurry when is on big screen.
So..

1-in what type of file should i work when i want to see my text in high definition when viewing a movie in a big widescreen (through projector)?
2-do you know what could happen with my 3D fragment, why is it blurry!!!?
3-is it a problem of iDVD with pdf files? or 3D?

Thank you thank you!!!!!
e

How are you storing the information that is displayed on the projector? Is everything on a DVD? Including the TIFF files?

[Esther Casas] "....in what type of file should i work when i want to see my text in high definition when viewing a movie in a big widescreen (through projector)?"

The limiting factor is your playback. If all you have available is DVD, then you're limited to DVD resolution.

"do you know what could happen with my 3D fragment, why is it blurry!!!?"

Again, the limiting factor is the resolution of the playback device.

"is it a problem of iDVD with pdf files? or 3D?"

See the above answers.

If you've absolutely got to have better resolution, you may want to consider making Blu-Ray DVDs. You could then work in 1970x1080, which is the best resolution you're going to get in TV pictures. You'll need a Blu-Ray DVD burner and you'll need to get Adobe Encore, which is currently the ONLY application for authoring Blu-Ray DVDs on Macs.

Dave and Darby, yes, you were right, I actually used FCP to burn the DVD and now is in a perfect resolution!
Thank you!!

Okay, so you actually meant, "FCP, Compressor and DVD Studio Pro". We'll give you a pass.

A handy rule of thumb: the "i" in front of the various kinds of Apple iSoftware does NOT stand for "professional".
