Shape Tool Not Activated ? ? ?

Hello all, once again the newbie is going to come to the surface . . I want to follow Arron tutorial on Shape Layers, but my shape tool will not activate. My project window looks the same in the tutorial. When the Shape tool do activate it only give me two shapes and will not open any controlls for the shape. The "Help Index" is of no use, or I'm looking in the wrong area... . Any suggests as to what is wrong ? ?

Watch Aharon's tutorial again -- perhaps this time you'll hear that the shape tool isn't activated until you've deselected all the layers in your comp.
