Since you're new, I have to ask:
Does the pixel aspect ratio plus horizontal and vertical resolution match what you're using in Avid? It should.
Are you rendering your graphics with an alpha channel for use in Avid? If not, you should, rather than keying the graphics in Avid.
And if you ARE rendering with an alpha channel, are you using a premultiplied or a straight alpha channel? Try the opposite, and see if it makes a difference.

Try adding a small amount of vertical blurring to the offending text/graphics.
Thin horizontal lines or edges can cause a very nasty effect on interlaced displays, where in the line/edge is visible in one field and not in another. It jumps between being visible and invisible every 1/25th of a second causing a distracting flicker along the edge.
If you blur the edge vertically slightly it could help.
